Tetra Tech signs US$25m contract for Phase 1 of Konza City

Tetra Tech Inc will oversee development of phase 1 of Konza city following the signing of a contract between them and Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA). Colorado-based Tetra Tech was selected as the Master Delivery Partner 2 (MDP2) in the Kenya’s smart city construction project. Tanzania to construct 50, 000 houses in a US$ 48 m real estate project

A total of USD 48.24 will be used in the first phase construction of houses in Tanzania to provide shelter for public servants. The real estate project will be funded by the government of Tanzania. The construction of the houses will be done in collaboration with a real estate developer, Watumishi Housing Company (WHC). Qatar investors to enter Kenya real estate market

Construction of the Juba-Bor Road in Sudan begins

Construction of the Juba-Bor road has started after the signing of an agreement between the Jonglei state government and UNMISS. Five new hotels to be constructed in Nairobi, Kenya at US$79m

Kenya: Standard Railway Project Set for October

PTA approves US$138m grant for Infrastructure and other projects in Tanzania

 The government of Tanzania has received a US$138m grant from the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (PTA). The funds will be used in three infrastructural projects and three syndicated loans. Kilwa Energy will receive US$50m, while 21st Century which is a food and packaging firm will get US$20m and Sea rock getting US$3m of the funds set aside for infrastructure. Proposed Dangote cement factory in Kenya: production capacity revised to 3 million tonnes per year

The proposed Dangote cement factory in Kenya is now set to produce double the initial planned capacity, indicating the rise in demand of cement in Kenya. Outer Ring Road in Kenya to be expanded into a dual carriage at US$82m

 Sino Hydro Tianjin Engineering will undertake expanding of the Outer Ring Road in Nairobi, Kenya at a cost of US$82m. This is after beating other eight firms that submitted bids in the tendering process.
