Kenya to construct the largest convention centre in Africa at US$ 561m

Kenya has unveiled plans to construct the largest convention centre in Africa as announced by the Ministry of Tourism, in a move to capitalize on convention tourism. The center will be constructed at a cost of US$ 561m. Construction works for the project has been slotted for next year, and the funds will be made available through a public-private partnership program (PPP). Mtwara Port in Tanzania set for a major upgrade

 The discovery of oil and gas in the Mtwara and Lindi regions in Tanzania is the main reason for the upgrade process Mtwara port is to undergo. US$ 331m to be spent on road network expansion in Ethiopia

      The Addis Ababa City Roads Authority (AACRA) has set aside US$331m for roads in the Addis Ababa city, Ethiopia. The city of Addis Ababa presently has a road network covering 4671km, which is expected to be increased to 5275km.   The project seeks to add 600km of road to the city’s road network. Eren Holdings to invest in a new cement production plant in Cameroon

    CEO of Turkish Eren Holdings has signed an investment agreement that will see the company undertake a new project, involving construction of a new cement production plant in Cameroon. Construction of Nairobi s tallest tower now awaits court s approval

 Construction of Hazina Trade Centre into what is to be Nairobi’s tallest tower has been stalled, pending a court ruling to be made in seven days. Zambia s US$259.3m Kazungula Bridge project kicks off

Egypt to tender five US$ 2.8 b new technology parks project

 The government of Egypt has unveiled plans to tender five projects to construct modern technology parks across the country at an estimated US$ 2.8 b to boost its revenues. Chinese firms to construct the new US$ 700m Gebba River Dam, Ethiopia
