Plan hatched to revive construction industry in Southern Africa .

The once thriving construction industry in Botswana will be revived through an economic stimulus programme, MP Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi has announced. China to invest in major construction projects in Africa

Cargo airport in West Africa to be constructed

A US$100.51m cargo airport in Nigeria will be constructed in Nasarawa State,  governor Tanko Al-makura, has said. The governor was speaking during the signing of the financial contract agreement between the state government and Tongyi Group Engineering, a Chinese firm tasked with the construction with their representative HYPAD . France boosts energy efficiency in East Africa

The French Development Agency (AFD) under the SUNREF programme has pledged to help in boosting energy efficiency in Uganda, the country’s Commissioner for Energy James Banabe has said. McKinsey urges construction industry in Africa to strengthen

Construction begins on largest gas power plant in sub-Saharan Africa

  Ghana has begun the construction of what it says will be the largest gas-fired power plant in sub-Saharan Africa to take advantage of the country’s rich reserves of natural gas. The gas power plant in Ghana, developed by Cummins Cogeneration Limited and WUTA Energy, will generate 300mw of power when completed. Construction At Avon Peaking Power Plant Resumes

Chinese firm begins the construction of police houses in Zambia

Chinese firm Avic International has been awarded a contract to construct 2, 350 houses in Zambia for police officers at the cost of US $320m.
