EAST AFRICA: KPA to build the facility in the next six months in efforts to boost tourist earnings.

 The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) plans to upgrade Mombasa port into an ultramodern cruise complex with a lounge, restaurants, souvenir shops and reception counters at berths 1 and 2. TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) (TMEA) has teamed up with the KPA to build the facility in the next six months in efforts to boost tourist earnings. Ethiopia: Parliament Approves Loan Deals With China for Infrastructure Projects

Addis Ababa — Ethiopia's parliament on Tuesday approved three loan agreements worth over 380 million U.S. dollars made with the Chinese government and the Export-Import Bank of China to finance major infrastructure constructions in Ethiopia.   The three loan agreements already approved will finance two road construction projects in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa and upgrade the capital's electric grid system, according to Birhanu.... Rwanda: Major Road Rehabilitation to Boost Regional Trade

Tanzania: County Sets Two-Week Deadline for Toilet Construction

Ruangwa — Lindi Regional Commissioner Godfrey Zambi has issued a two-week ultimatum to Ruangwa District's residents to construct toilets as part of efforts to check water-borne diseases, especially cholera.   Mr Zambi ordered the District Commissioner, Mr Joseph Mkirikiti, to embark on a house-house inspection by January 15, next year and impose a 50,000/- fine to those failing to comply with the directive.   The RC issued.... Ethiopians in China Purchase GERD Bonds Worth $14000

Kenya: Country to Get New Dam Through Public-Private Partnership

Ethiopia: Two Additional Dams Planned to Ease Water Shortage

The planned dams are part of GTP II.   The Awash Basin Authority (ABA) plans to build two additional dams which could help prevent water shortage at the region that has over 18 million inhabitants.   Authority Director General Getachew Gizaw said the dams, part of GTP II, would also help prevent flooding at the middle and lower Awash areas.   Previously, three dams, namely Koka, Kesem and Tendaho were built on the 1,250 -kms.... Rwanda: Kigali Roads Expansion Project to Begin in January

Kenya: Over 2,500KM Roads to be Built Next Year
