Kenya's tallest high-rise apartment units to be completed by 2021

Kenya has disclosed it's plans to construct 2,720 high-rise apartment units in Nairobi’s Ngara estate in a development project that will gift the Kenyan capital its tallest homes beating 22-storey Le’mac Towers, Nairobi’s residential tower. Ethiopia inaugurates the biggest airport aviation hub in Africa

Ethiopian Prime Minister Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated the newly expanded Addis Ababa Bole International Airport terminal, the biggest airport aviation hub in Africa exceeding Johannesburg’s O.R. Ethiopia Airlines to launch US $65m five-star hotel

Ethiopian Airline is set to launch US $65m Ethiopian Skylight Five Hotel this month. This is according to the Airline’s Head of Infrastructure Planning and Development, Abraham Tesfaye. The Head of Infrastructure Planning said that the million dollar hotel whose construction  began in 2016, will be officially opened to the public on the 28th of January. East Africa construction industry outlook promising-report

The total number of projects in East Africa has risen by a substantial 96% between 2017 and 2018 with an equally substantial increase of 167% in the total US dollar value of projects, a new report has shown. The Africa Construction Trends (2018) by consultancy firm Deloitte, reveals that East Africa has a total of 139 projects at a combined value of US$87.1bn. 806 acres of land set aside for construction of new industries in Tanzania

More than 806 acres of land has been set aside for construction of new industries by the government of Tanzania in the country's northern city Arusha. Construction is set to take place on the southern fringes of the 272 square-kilometer metropolitan area. East Africa construction industry to grow tenfold over the years

Investment opportunities in infrastructure construction is set to expand at a rapid pace in East Africa. Operations of Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance dam to commence in 2020

Ethiopia’s water and energy minister Seleshi Bekele announced on Thursday that the country will start energy production at the Grand Renaissance dam in December 2020. Bangladeshi steel maker to open Sh6.5bn factory

Big ticket infrastructural projects including the multi-billion Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) have driven up demand for steel products in the country. One of the largest steel makers in Bangladesh is set to open a Sh6.5 billion ($65 million) factory in Kenya. Ethiopia awards 13 billion Br Road Projects to companies

The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) awarded eight road projects out of the total nine to different companies late last week, the ninth one being won by a Chinese firm who made the highest offer to construct a 68.8Km alternative road for Limalimo. USD 1.2 billion mega housing project announced by Ethiopia for Addis Ababa

Keeping the importance of secure low cost housing in mind, plans have been announced by Ethiopia’s Federal Housing Corporation (FHC) to build 16,173 homes in the capital city of Addis Ababa at an estimated cost of around $1.2bn.  The housing will be allocated for rental houses to employees of businesses and the state officials in a 50-50 division.
